I have been working on lots of aprons. It's funny because I buy fabric with one person in mind and as I work, the person I want to give it to changes. Hopefully I'll get about 4 more made before Christmas. What do you think? Also, isn't my model cute! She is one of my favorite babysitters.

Roxannes Glue Baste
I remember mentioning to you that I really like this product but I didn't really have a use to tell you how it works. Well, yesterday when i was making my binding I used it so I thought I'd share. When making a bias binding with a stripe, I really like my stripes to match up (I know no one would ever notice, but I like it that way). Anyway, using traditional methods it's really hard to make the stripes match because you make an L with the two strips and then run a 45 degree seam. I got an idea to match up the stripes, iron where I wanted the seam to be and then glue the two pieces together. Then i could open where I ironed and run my seam along my crease. It worked wonderfully, and I was way excited that all of my stripes match.
I took a bunch of pictures of what I dod to share with you. Here are the steps.
1. Cut bias binding

Fall Creation!
Once I started - I couldn't stop. I worked on this until 3:45 AM! Craziness! It was so easy to put together. The hardest part was making sure I started straight. I can't wait to finish binding it.

Was it worth it???
You know you have a serious problem when you are willing to drive for over 2 1/2 hours to find a quilt shop that is really only 30 minutes away - all in hope of finding a fabric to put on the back of your quilt!! That's what I did yesterday.
I drove the young women and young men to an activity in Oceanside and thought it would be fun to visit a quilt shop while I was in the area. I googled quilt shops in Oceanside and came up with Mad Hatter's Quilt Box. The name was cute - and it was within 5 miles of the stake center. So, I drove up and down Oceanside Blvd several times trying to find the building. It wasn't the nicest side of town - more warehouses than actual stores... but, I've seen that before. Finally, I called Aaron and asked him to look up the phone number. Luckily, the store owner answered the phone and told me that they were just an online store! Oh joy! She was at a quilt show in a town nearby with several other shop owners. So, she walked around the show asking everyone if they had any fabric on a bolt in the "Fall" Moda line. She actually saved me from driving to several shops. She found a store in Fallbrook for me that carried several "Fall" moda options. She handed the phone to the store owner who proceeded to give me directions. I am driving down Oceanside Blvd writing this down. I really messed up the directions! Fortunately, she gave me the store phone number so I was able to call the store every time I got lost.
I can't even explain how off I was! At one point I felt like I was in the middle of the desert. I was very close to the freeway exit but I didn't know it. When I called the store, someone told me I had gone too far so I turned around and drove back toward San Diego for 20 minutes. I am not sure why I didn't give up at this point. I can only attribute it to my stubborn nature and angst at getting so lost. It may be time for GPS. Can you get one installed in a mini-van?
I did finally find the store. Everyone in the store knew my story and thought I was a FREAK to drive so far for only 1 1/2 yards!!! I sure hope it was worth it! I am sooooo stinking excited to make this quilt. Hopefully I'll have a finished product to post soon. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE COREY'S BABY BLANKET FINISHED!!!

Hello!
Hi Jenn-
I got this started a little sooner than I thought I would. Thank you so much for having me come. I had a great time. I'm sorry that we didn't finish all of our projects. Hopefully you are happy with what we got done. I'm going to trim and put the binding on my quilt tomorrow. I am so in love with it! I'm excited to get it done so I can show you pictures! I've been thinking that I will try and get at least one thing done every month to share. I'll also try and keep you posted on my quilt groups. Hope that all is well.
