Roxannes Glue Baste

I remember mentioning to you that I really like this product but I didn't really have a use to tell you how it works. Well, yesterday when i was making my binding I used it so I thought I'd share. When making a bias binding with a stripe, I really like my stripes to match up (I know no one would ever notice, but I like it that way). Anyway, using traditional methods it's really hard to make the stripes match because you make an L with the two strips and then run a 45 degree seam. I got an idea to match up the stripes, iron where I wanted the seam to be and then glue the two pieces together. Then i could open where I ironed and run my seam along my crease. It worked wonderfully, and I was way excited that all of my stripes match.

I took a bunch of pictures of what I dod to share with you. Here are the steps.

1. Cut bias binding

2. Match pattern of two pieces
3. Iron one piece so that patterns match.
4. Dot glue along desired seam and match patterns. Iron with a hot no steam iron.
5. Open glued crease and sew along inside of crease.
6. Trim a 1/4 inch selvage along seam, iron open and witness the magic. The glue is washable so don't worry about trying to open the seam, the glue will come out when washed and yes, that is my handy 1/4 inch ruler.
Hope you like my little tutorial and it inspires you to try this product out. I think the use possibilites are endless.
